20-Year Sandwich

This recipe originated in the Wild West, where the frontiersmen would spend long, hard winters living off of the dried meat they prepared during the bountiful summers. Why is it called the 20-Year Sandwich? Because after the lettuce rots, the contents of this dish will last for 20 years...keep it in your glove box in case of emergencies!

Ingredients:

• Beef jerky strips
• Lettuce leaves
• Bread slices or hamburger buns

Place beef jerky strips and lettuce leaves on bread. Bring sandwiches slices together and bite in! For those not requiring longevity from this dish, spice it up with the Pepper Spread*.

Serving Note: Denture wearers may have problems with this dish, especially if the beef jerky is low grade and sinewy. If you have dental issues, place sandwich in blender and frappe for one minute before serving.

*Pepper Spread
• 1 cup mayonnaise
• 1 cup tabasco
• 1/2 cup black pepper

Place ingredients in blender. Blend until pink.
