. 1001 Uses For A Laptop Bag ...............

. Tool Belt

Are you unemployed? Are you also a former Internet stud with a few too many laptop bags sitting around? Here's an idea for those of you who are dabbling with poverty and who also enjoy home improvement: Make yourself a tool belt. Sure, you can get tool belts at a fairly low cost, but why pay for something that you could waste half a day putting together yourself? You don't do anything else all week except sit there and wait for your EDD check anyways.
  1. Cut the flap off of a laptop bag.
  2. To provide support for when you pick up the laptop bag, they usually put a flat stick of metal under the handle. You'll need to do a little surgery to cut it out since it's sewed into the flap.
  3. Where the stick of metal was, run a nylon strap through and add buckles to the strap. This is your belt.
  4. Slide the shoulder pad from your laptop bag onto your belt so it provides a cushion where the strap rests against your back.
  5. Cut off any superfluous buckles.
  6. Serve at room temperature and enjoy!
If you don't have a laptop bag like this one, I don't recommend you go out and buy a new one just to do this. It's what we in the business of being miserly would call "defeating the purpose." If your laptop bag is different, just improvise with duct tape and staples.
